Most of my work is done in class. However, the following information should help you keep your child organized.
Spelling - We don't have a book, but each child has a packet of worksheets for the entire year. The pre-test is the first day of the week, obviously most often a Monday. The lesson is due on Thursday, and the post test, if the student has to take it is the last day of the week. If the student misses any on the pre-test, they must take the post-test. Each child is encouraged to write the words s/he missed five times each before leaving for the next class. If s/he does that, for each word practiced correctly, a half-point of extra credit is awarded. If no words on the pre-test are missed, then the student doesn't take the post-test.
If a student is absent on pre-test day, the post-test becomes the pre-test and the same rules apply. Absent on post-test day? The student needs to make arrangement to take the post-test or the pre-test grade stands.
